After Phon D Sutton and before Tucson, AZ we are scheduling a stop at the Elks Lodge at Florence, AZ. Organ Pipe is still on the schedule whether or not you are planning on going to Mexico.
Parking Location: Elks Lodge, Florence AZ
Directions & Other Information: From Florence take highway 287 west to Attaway Rd. Turn right (North) on Attaway Rd. The Elks Lodge is less than ½ mile on the right. Parking in field north of lodge. Donation $$. The Lodge has meals 3-4 nights per week.

Feb 19 – 28, 2015 ORGAN PIPE CACTUS NATIONAL MONUMENT – WWC

Info: We will be camping in the same general area. This includes both those going to Mexico and those who are not. Please email Marlene at syver117@gmail.com with the overall length of your RV unit with tow and whether you want to camp in the generator area or no-generator area. The Park Service needs this information to ensure we have enough spaces in the same area.
Activities: The ranger will give us a guided tour of the area on Feb 20 and 23, but you need to call and reserve your spot. Space is limited call 520-387-6849. Reservation will be taken up to 7 days prior to the tour date.
MEXICO BOUND
ORGAN PIPE CACTUS NAT’L MON - WWC
Feb 23 – 25, 2015

Activities: At Quartzsite’s January gathering,
informational meetings will be held for those planning to
go to Mexico. At Organ Pipe Cactus Nat’l Mon gathering,
we will meet and set up schedule for crossing the border
at Lukeville. HAVE YOUR PASSPORT prior to getting to
Organ Pipe gathering. If you are taking animals, have their
30-day certificates from a veterinarian. You need the title
for your MH and car, or have a letter from lender allowing
you to leave the US with it. We will get Mexican Insurance
before border. NO GUNS. Leave them with a friend or rent
space at Lukeville store.

Directions & Other Information: From Why, travel 22
miles south on AZ-85. Twin Peaks Campground nightly
fee is $12, $6 with Senior Pass. Campsites have tables
and raised fire grills but no hookups. Dump station, water,
and solar showers are available.

MEXICO BOUND
PUERTO PENASCO, MEXICO

Activities: FUN FUN FUN!!!! If you haven't experienced
Mexico you have missed out. Puerto Penasco is about 80
miles from the US border. Sightseeing, shopping, fish
tacos, beautiful bay. Park right on the beach. Buy fresh
shrimp and fresh fish. Sunset cruises. Eat out at Casa del
Capitan. Need body work on your rig? Upholstery work?
Get it right at your camp site. Even a massage or a
pedicure on the beach. Fishing trips. Shopping at Shack's
5th Ave., Mercedes (esplanade along the waterfront) and
Malecon fish market. Walks on the beach. Trip to Shell
Beach. Kayaking at your front door.

Directions & Other Information: Caravan from Organ
Pipe to camping site. Water, dump, showers and
restrooms. Last years boondock fee was $7 per night.

AZ-86 east toward Tucson. At Ryan Field airport, turn right
onto W. Valencia Rd. Continue until you come to Casino
del Sol on right. Just past casino, turn right onto street by
service station. Then take second right into casino parking
lot.

Kartchner Caverns State Park.
Parking Location: Sierra Vista Elks Lodge, 1 Elk Lane.
Directions & Other Information: From I-10, go south on
AZ-90 for 27.5 miles. Go straight at light when AZ-90 turns
to the left. You will now be on Buffalo Soldier Trail. Turn
left on Wilcox Drive. Lodge is on the right. Enter on east
side of Lodge.14 sites have W & E. Dump at nearby
service station.

is composed of authors Amy Tan, Dave Barry, Greg Iles,
Scott Turow, Mitch Albom showing off their other talents.
Fri, Mar 13. 8-9:30 pm U of A campus. Contact Adelle for
a reservation (concert price will be set in Nov; reservations
begin Dec 1).
Stay one more night and go to the Green Valley Health

There will be a caravan heading north from Roosevelt Lake to Kanab, Utah.
This caravan will leave Roosevelt Lake on April 7 and will be making stops at Payson,
Sedona, Flagstaff, Page and Kanab.

Bridge Road. Turn right (east) on Bridge Road. At stop

road, then right over RR tracks, and
into the tree-lined road. Road then makes
then a left turn. There will be an old
right and on left will be the turn into the Flying W. Cost
$5/night. Park in large level field, electric extra,

Park near top of the loop. Daily-Use Passes are required for each night in this campground. Purchase the Daily-Use Passes at Lake Roosevelt Visitor Center or at Lake House Grill (MM 234). When you turn in to Lake House Grill, stay to right of building then left directly behind building to RV parking on the north side. For $3.00/day senior rate you must show Golden Age/Senior Pass or pay $6/day. If you use credit card add 50¢. 2 week maximum stay. Cinders Hills OHV is 8 miles north of Flagstaff on US-89. Turn east on FN-779 Road.Go about 1.3 miles past Cinder Lake, a large treeless expanse of black cinders, to RV Campsite 2. You can pretty much camp anywhere among the cinders. Caution: If you have 2-wheel drive, be very careful that you don’t go off any paths that aren’t packed down. You can easily get stuck in the loose cinders. Dumps located at two Giant Service Stations. Elevation: 6774 feet
